Today fans of the Blue Blur were delighted as the hit film Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has become available for digital purchase as well as streaming on Paramount+. The more exciting news attached is that the movie will be packaged with a new animated short titled “Sonic Drone Home”. The short features Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles taking on another one of Robotnik’s robots in a short action-packed adventure. The short takes place after the movie and a teaser was released today.

While the teaser is short, it’s filled to the brim with energy and looks to be a delightful addition to the Sonic film universe. One major standout of the teaser is the ever-present bashfulness of Knuckles, which fans will be able see more of when his animated series drops on Paramount+ at some point in 2023.
If anything, this short proves that the future of this franchise is bright. All of the characters mesh great, sound great, and are a pleasure to watch. For those looking to snag the physical edition of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, it will be available on August 9th.
