CheckpointXP is looking for dedicated students who want to learn the ins and outs of esports and gaming journalism.

If you live or go to school in the Metro Detroit area, you could have the chance to work in studio with the CheckpointXP team.

Writing & Research
This opportunity will give you the chance to have a byline on the CheckpointXP.com website. Gain experience researching a topic, write about fun topics, such as video games and esports, and learn to utilize SEO to further your writing portfolio.
Please include a writing sample in the form below with your submission. The sample must be at least 500 words and can be an editorial or news story. The sample must be about video games, the gaming industry, gaming pop culture, esports, or college esports.
Audio & Video Editing
This opportunity will give you the chance to manage video and audio projects for the CheckpointXP On Campus brand. You will create social clips, TikTok/Instagram Reels, and also help with the CheckpointXP On Campus show. Working with the On-Air/Host interns, you will create these short social pieces.
Please include a video sample in the form below with your submission. You must have access to video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, etc.). The sample must be about video games, the gaming industry, gaming pop culture, esports, or college esports.
Marketing and Social Media
This opportunity will give you the chance to help build the growing CheckpointXP On Campus brand. Learning how to engage and build an audience through social media and marketing efforts. Create memes, video clips, infographics, and more in different formats for Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.

On-Air Talent / Host
This opportunity will give you the chance to guest host the CheckpointXP On Campus show. Become an expert within the collegiate esports scene by following teams through different esports and report on them each week on the show. You will also have the chance to be the talent for Instagram Reels and TikToks. Working with the audio/video editing interns, you will create these short social pieces.
Please include a hosting video sample in the form below with your submission. You must have access to a camera (webcam is fine) and considerate of your lighting (You must be easily seen on camera). The sample must be about video games, the gaming industry, gaming pop culture, esports, or college esports.
