LCS 2020 Spring Split Week 5 Power Rankings: Cloud 10

With Cloud 9 now 10-0 they are surely the top favorites to win the split, but can the surging TSM play spoiler or will Flyquest maintain their #2 spot? Here we take a look at where all of the teams stand at week 5 of the LCS.
1. Cloud 9
Simply the best. While some detractors will say C9’s dominance is also a product of Team Liquid and everyone else not being very good, C9 continues to lay waste to the LCS. Not even G2 Esports in the LEC has seen the same levels of mastery over their League. While Zven has been the out and out best AD Carry in the league, the big story has been the emergence of Blaber as its best jungler. But with every starter virtually the best at their position its hard to see any team knocking C9 off their perch any time soon. They deserve all of the superlatives.
2. Flyquest

Flyquest’s Power of Evil continues to prove that he was the man that helped CLG reach the Summer Split playoffs last year. Flyquest had a pedestrian outing against Golden Guardians and CLG, but that doesn’t change that they made it look easy. Flyquest is very quickly becoming the only team that looks anywhere near C9’s level. And even they still look light years behind.
3. Team Solo Mid
TSM made the turn around in week 2 that they needed to position themselves in the top half of the table. Kobbe and Biofrost finally look like a solid bot lane duo and Bjergsen is back to his usual self dominating 100 Thieves, Ryoma, in lane. If there is one thing TSM could work on its neutral objectives. Over the past week they gave up six dragons to three. So while they aren’t giving up Dragon’s Souls, they are constantly having to stop other teams from securing it, which will backfire against stronger teams like C9 and Flyquest.
4. Dignitas

In the middle of the pack we have a glut of 5-5 teams that make it a bit hard to separate the wheat from the chaff. However, if there is a team that sits atop the pile and gatekeeps the rest it would probably be Dignitas. Even though they dropped a very on sided game to Team Liquid over the weekend they did the same to Immortals in turn. You could call the Dig hot and cold but their team fighting is still solid and can be the difference in the matches to come.
5. Evil Geniuses
EG is a team that seems destined for the edge. While they are firmly in the middle of the middle of the pack this week there are still some glaring flaws to the team. Svenskeren is securing assists but not necessarily kills. And when AD Carry Bang isn’t up to form the team usually doesn’t win. That can lead to really tough matches when the fate of the team rests so clearly on a couple of players. Other teams have more potential to climb, EG will not stay at this slot for long.
6. Immortals
Immortals had a really rough go of it this week. With this team it isn’t really that they lose its the how. Over both games Xmithie was only able to secure one kill out of jungle and top laner, sOAZ, only had one kill over the entire weekend. Immortals has a way off often looking much worse than they really are. This weekend was a perfect example of that.
7. 100 Thieves

This is a team that with one more bad week will be in full blown crisis mode. They sit at 4-6 with TL and Golden Guardians but have only secured wins against the teams beneath them. While they took down Golden Guardians over the weekend they dropped another to TSM. Their schedule is only going to get harder and they could find themselves only just above CLG in the rankings if nothing changes.
8. Team Liquid
The other foot has finally dropped. TL finally look like (a semblance of) the team they were supposed to look like at the start of the season. They dropped a really tough match to EG, but they utterly dominated Dignitas. As it stands they are sort of the anti-100T. They seem to look significantly better than them over the season. We know that TL has the talent to make a run, but it may be too late for the Split Championship record to continue.
9. Golden Guardians

It’s hard not to feel for GGs a little bit. They hardly ever look as pitiful as CLG, and when they win they are a really fun team to watch. But the simply don’t have the squad to make runs into the middle of the table. Mid-laner, GoldenGlue, looks like he has the makings of a future LCS star, but that won’t to fruition with this squad.
10. Counter Logic Gaming
Just blow it up. CLG thought they were making a big time move getting Pobelter to come out of retirement but nothing materialized. CLG had the very unfortunate pleasure of playing the top two teams in the league this week in C9 and Flyquest. Neither match did they look like Pobelter was any improvement over Crown. In fact, Pobelter ate a staggering nine deaths over the two games. At this point, there aren’t many moves CLG can make. The split is essentially over for them already.
