The Atlanta FaZe Call of Duty 2021 Champs
The Atlanta FaZe came out on top earning the Championship title for the 2021 Call of Duty League. Last year at the 2020 finals, they faced off against the Dallas Empire but just couldn’t pull off the win. This year, they correct that mistake and take the throne for themselves as they defeat the Toronto Ultra in a 5 – 3 series.
The Atlanta FaZe is a partnership between Atlanta Esports Ventures and the well-known esports organization, FaZe Clan. FaZe Clan has always been known for their excellence and this year in the Call of Duty of League they won three of the regular season’s first four Majors. Despite have some tough luck in Stage Five, they picked themselves back up and showed what they were capable of.
Along with the title of champions, Atlanta FaZe takes home $1.2 Million in first-place prize money. In addition, Tyler “aBeZy” Pharris earned the 2021 World Champion MVP award. This makes him and two other players, Simp and Arcitys, two-time world champions.
Chris “Simp” Lehr, 2021 Call of Duty League MVP, told Jess Brohard after the match, “I’m super proud, man. These last two weeks—ever since Major Five—we’ve been in the blender. Our scrims have been amazing, just because we had this team talk. We got a little personal, we told each other what we needed to work on, and we did it, man. We’re back on top.”
