Madden 22 Releases Its First Album
The Madden games developed and released by Electronic Arts have been a staple in the gaming world for over a decade, but they’re still managing to break new barriers. Movies have soundtracks, video games have long had soundtracks and now, even NFL Madden 22 is releasing its own soundtrack.
You may be surprised by the idea, but the Madden games have always featured music by popular recording artists throughout the years. In fact, some artists have even created and recorded original tracks specifically for the Madden games. If you thought the Madden Album was just going to be a collection of previously released songs, akin to something like Guardians of the Galaxy, you’d be wrong.
The Madden 22 album, which is currently available on all major streaming platforms features 11 exclusive songs that were created just for the game. They include artists such as Jack Harlow, Swae Lee, Tierra Whack, Moneybagg Yo, BRS Kash, and more.
In a press release President of EA Music, Steve Schnur said, “Over the past decades, Madden NFL has become a platform for fans to discover new music, launching new stars and establishing trends that have changed the way players play the game and how they experience NFL football itself,”
Speaking about Interscope, the record label behind the album, Schnur went on to say, “Working with Interscope, one of the most forward-thinking, risk-taking labels in the industry, we’ve created a cohesive, innovative soundtrack that connects gaming, football, and music culture for the next generation.”
The Album may only have 11 tracks on it, but the game itself boasts more than 50 additional tracks which can be heard throughout the game’s newest play mode, The Yard. It includes new music from Killer Mike, Leikeli47, and Coi Leray as well as current hits from Drake, J.Cole featuring Lil Baby, and 24kGoldn. Plus more exclusives from newcomers Kuttem Reese and Kidd Kenn and it can all be discovered in The Yard and throughout the game.
