Tekken World Tour 2020 ANNOUNCED New TOURNAMENTS Added
The premier 3D fighting game in the land, Tekken 7, as enjoyed a great run over this console generation and looks to close it out strong with the 2020 Tekken World Tour. The event is in its 4th year and is aiming to improve upon its 2019 final which saw Tekken’s largest prize pool ever.
In TWT’s announcement video, They reveal all of the tour’s stops which include the usual big names in the FGC. EVO, Combo Breaker, CEO and Dreamhack Atlanta are all included. The new dates for the TWT are all over the world. Every major region for Tekken besides North America is seeing at least one new tournament on the TWT schedule. Most interestingly is the Takra Cup in Pakistan and Kiungo in Cote D’Ivoire. The former due to Pakistan’s massive surge in the Tekken scene over the past couple of years. The latter makes the Ivory Coast host to one of the very few esports events in Sub-Saharan Africa. Bandai/Namco said that there would be over 200k in prizes but that’s split over all the tour stops.
