Sonic’s New Movie Theme Is A Step Up

There aren’t many video game movie adaptations that I get excited for. When the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie trailer premiered last year it was no exception. The internet has a whole reviled it and his oddly human teeth. With the world’s rejection of the creepy humanoid hedgehog the studio delayed and reworked Sonic’s entire design.
Now the film is on track to open to over $40 Million on it’s first weekend. It could even potentially crack $50 Million. The movie will open February 14th just in time for Valentine’s Day. One of the biggest improvements from the first trailer to the second was getting rid of Gangsta’s Paradise by Coolio.
Today the new movie theme “Speed Me Up” was released and features Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yatchy and Sueco the Child. The music video that accompanies is it weird but in a good way. It utilizes levels from all different Sonic games and teleports the artists on the track into them as well. It fits in perfectly with the type of strangeness I think is going to endear fans to this movie.
