Tempest Awards Preview: Best Stream Experience
Next week in Las Vegas the Esports Business Summit will take place at the MGM Grand. The Esports Business Summit is a chance for all sides of the esports world to come together in a single place for three straight days of collaboration, talks, conferences and more. Part of those three days also includes the Tempest Awards which will take place at the HyperX Esports Arena on September 11th. Over the next few days leading up to the Tempest Awards we’ll be previewing the various categories.
Our Prediction to Win: Overwatch League All-Access Pass
The All-Access Pass for the Overwatch League has come a long way since it’s inception in the inaugural season where having the pass granted you a few skins in game and access to post-stream QA’s. This year, however, the Overwatch League took it to the next level giving their viewers the ability to pick and choose which player perspectives they could watch during a match. In addition to being able to view multiple players at once, they also provide an overhead map. It’s perfect for super fans to watch their favorite players and get a better handle on the action outside of what the original broadcast is showing and sets a major precedent for how viewing should be done going forward in any esport.
The Tempest Awards will take place on September 11th at 8:45 PDT at the HyperX Esports Arena in the Luxor in Las Vegas. You can tune in to watch live at Twitch.tv/CheckpointXP.
