The CCA Open Is Returning for Spring 2022
Collegiate Rocket League (CRL) is bringing back the CCA Open for Spring 2022. From February to March, they will be hosting four Open Events for the Eastern and Western Conferences. Those teams that did not make it into the league play will be eligible for these Open Events and cash prizes!
At 11:59 pm (ET) on the Wednesday before each Open Tournament, registration will be open. The Open Events will last for two days and will be a double elimination style tournament. Of course, teams will only face others in their conference.
The Open Tournaments will take place:
- February 19-20
- February 26-27
- March 5-6
- March 19-20
They will start at 12:00 PM ET for the Eastern Tournaments and 1:00 PM ET or 10:00 AM PT for the Western Tournament.
Teams will be awarded points based on their placements in the Open Events. The top eight teams from both conferences will receive $1250 USD and they might qualify for future CRL events like the Open Qualifiers or League Play.
To watch certain schools live, you can watch them on their semester community stream. Every school that participates in these tournaments, and other ones, will have links to their streams. Known as the Broadcast Exception program, CRL is allowing these schools to produce their streams. It will give them a chance to create a personal link with their fans and practice broadcasting skills. You can go to TheDangerTaco’s Twitch Channel to watch the approved community bracket system.
