Tempest Awards Preview: Team of the Year
Next week in Las Vegas the Esports Business Summit will take place at the MGM Grand. The Esports Business Summit is a chance for all sides of the esports world to come together in a single place for three straight days of collaboration, talks, conferences and more. Part of those three days also includes the Tempest Awards which will take place at the HyperX Esports Arena on September 11th. Over the next few days leading up to the Tempest Awards we’ll be previewing the various categories.
Our Prediction to Win: Team Liquid
It’s hard to argue with Team Liquid for this category. Are you a CS:GO fan? They’ve been the most dominant team in Counter-Strike this year, winning an Intel Grand Slam along the way. Oh, you like League of Legends? They won both the spring and summer split in the LCS, and defeated the defending world champions, Invictus Gaming, at the Mid-Season Invitational. DOTA 2? They were the runners up, and winners of 5 million dollars at The International 2019. Fighting Games? Guess who Hungrybox plays for. No matter where you look in esports, Team Liquid is at the top of the game and they are our pick to win.
The Tempest Awards will take place on September 11th at 8:45 PDT at the HyperX Esports Arena in the Luxor in Las Vegas. You can tune in to watch live at Twitch.tv/CheckpointXP.
