FaZe Clan Joins The San Diego Padres
It’s been a busy and exciting year for FaZe Clan, one of the most recognizable and influential gaming and esports brands in the world. Earlier this year, the organization graced the cover of Sports Illustrated, the first esports team to do so. They also landed a huge deal with McDonald’s that will see them producing content that promotes diversity and inclusivity.
One of the big aspects of FaZe Clan that propels them into the mainstream spotlight is their connections to traditional sports and media. NBA Star Ben Simmons who plays for the Philadelphia 76er’s is a part-owner, as is Josh Hart from the New Orleans Pelicans. But it’s not just athletes who support FaZe Clan as musicians Ray J, DJ Paul, Offset and Pitbull have all invested as well.
So it should come as no surprise that FaZe Clan is dipping their toes into Major League Baseball as well. On August 25th when the San Diego Padres faced off against the Los Angeles Dodgers, one of the FaZe Clan’s biggest content creators was there to throw the first pitch.
Brian Rafat Awadis or FaZe Rug as his nearly 20 Million YouTube fans know him as took to the mound to throw the first pitch of the game. It wasn’t the best pitch, but Awadis had a good time and was quick to brag on social media about how ‘lit’ the experience was.
