According to CNET, there are a lot of health features included with the watch, including a key new health sensor, which can measure your blood oxygen level in 15 seconds. Apple also announced new services for the device that are focused on health and family. They announced a new service called Fitness Plus, which offers a variety of weekly workout routines for $9.99 a month.
The impact of Apple’s aggressive new health and fitness offerings was felt immediately on the stock market, as Pelotin’s stock sunk soon after the announcement.
Additionally, Apple also said its Apple Watch will have a feature called Family Setup, allowing parents to set up their children’s watch to help track their kids’ location and control who they talk to using iMessage. The feature requires a cellular version of the Apple Watch, but it doesn’t require a child to have an iPhone.
Other big announcements include the following:
- The Apple Watch SE
- The new 8th-generation iPad
- The new iPad Air
- Fitness+ workout services
- Apple One service bundles
Customers can expect the newest iPhone software, iOS 14 to launch on Wednesday, Sept. 16 with lots of new features like widgets, a fresh way to organize your home screen, security enhancements, and more.
The Apple One service bundles seem to be getting a lot of attention on Twitter. It will offer three tiers with different services starting at $14.95 a month: Individual, Family and Premier.
There was no announcement about new iPhones at the conference, but are expected at a future launch.
