Esports continues to rub elbows with haute couture, as members of Fnatic attended a Gucci fashion show in Milan this week.
Fnatic’s League of Legends team sat in the front row as the Italian fashion house showed off its 2020 Menwear’s line. The players were also draped in various Gucci pieces serving as additional models for some of the less fashion-forward selections.
When asked about the invitation to the show Fnatic, Craig Santicchia said to Esports Insider
“We’re extremely proud to have been invited by Gucci to attend the Milan Fashion Show as special guests on what is a cross over between the new world sport and fashion. Gucci has always been an innovative brand, pushing the boundaries, much like ourselves at Fnatic. Disrupting the norms and opening up new possibilities.”
While no evidence of further collaboration came from the visit, its hard not to think that Gucci is looking to see what the best ways to get involved with gaming are. Fellow high fashion brand, Louis Vuitton, is currently collaborating with Riot Games and League of Legends on in-game skins, fashion lines and more.
