Close Shave of the Week: Southwind Rescue
Each week at CheckpointXP we bring you a moment in esports that is too close for comfort in the close shave of the week. This week for the CheckpointXP close shave of the week we check in on the Chinese LPL with Invictus Gaming.
There’s a lot to break down in this clip. First, we have to give props to Doinb for the beautiful 4-man Diana ult. However, even more impressive is the defensive play from Southwind on Braum. A well-placed shield saves his squishy team-members from a quick death. He follows that up with his ultimate, which forces Diana to pop her Zhonya’s Hourglass and allows his team to disengage somewhat. By the time Doinb can dive back in, Invictus have regrouped and take down both him and Crisp. What should have been a 0-4 slaughter instead became a 2-0 win in the team-fight thanks to some clutch defense.
