You Can Play as Link in Super Mario Maker 2

Super Mario Maker 2 is getting an amazing update this week on Thursday, December 5th. The update includes new enemies, new blocks and power-ups, one of which is the Master Sword from the Legend of Zelda. When Mario obtains the Master Sword power-up he turns into the Hero of Hyrule himself, Link.
While in Link form Mario has access to all his classic abilities like bombs, shooting arrows and using his shield to block. He’ll also have more ways to defeat enemies than just jumping on their heads, including Link’ s classic downward strike with his sword.
Our Thoughts: I LOVE THIS! It’s a fine line to walk in game development when adding characters or lore from other games into your game. Super Smash Brothers has shown us that this formula works and the like of the Marvel Cinematic Universe also proves that we as consumers just love to see our favorite characters interacting with one another. You have to be careful though, if you go too far down the rabbit hole it leaves your game feeling void of any real creativity and originality. For Mario Maker 2, however, I don’t foresee that being a problem, it oozes both of those things. Personally, I don’t think it should stop here! Put a Samus power-up in the game next so we can play as favorite space-faring bounty hunter.
