As esports continues to grow the the franchise model proves to be more successful with leagues such as Overwatch and the forthcoming Call of Duty League. We’re also seeing more and more teams are investing in their own facilities. Back in March the Philadelphia Fusion announced plans to build a $50 Million arena for their Overwatch Team in the same space that houses the Wells Fargo Center, Lincoln Financial Field and Citizens Bank Park.
This week, Team Envy made the announcement that they’d be adding a 21,000 square foot space to Victory Park to serve as a training facility and content creator space for their esports endeavors. This includes the Dallas Fuel Overwatch team and the Dallas Empire Call of Duty team.
Unlike the Fusion Arena, Team Envy hopes that the space will be ready in time for the 2020 season.
