Fortnite crossed a major milestone as they have now given away the second largest amount of prize money of any esport. They surpassed CS:GO, which held the number 2 slot before this week. Having given away 82.9 million dollars in prize money, they are still a distant second behind DOTA 2. As long as The International keeps breaking records, DOTA 2 should hang onto the top spot. However, the speed with which Epic got into second place is impressive. And let’s be honest, given the amount of money that Epic is bringing in off Fortnite, they could make a serious play for the top spot.
