Week 4 of the Overwatch League Stage 4 has come to a close and with only one week left to go, the Play-Off Picture has nearly all been determined. At this point there’s a few positions in the play-in stage that could shift around slightly.
Starting off the week was the Boston Uprising taking on the Florida Mayhem. The Uprising have had a very rough season and it didn’t stop here as the Florida Mayhem delivered a complete 4 and 0 sweep. The Dallas Fuel saw similar results against the Hangzhou Spark, though the Fuel did manage to take the first map, the final result ended 1 – 3 in favor of the Spark. The Seoul Dynasty and the Shanghai Dragons are both fighting to get the best possible seeding they can in the play-off stages and it was the Dynasty who came out on top this time with a 3 to 1 match score.
Day two kicked off with the Washington Justice playing the Atlanta Reign, two teams still undefeated this stage. It was a close match all the way through, but the Reign ended up taking the win with a 2 to 1 match. The San Francisco Shock remain undefeated this stage with a full sweep over the Chengdu Hunters. Plus, the Hangzhou Spark claim a victory over the Los Angeles Gladiators in game five.
Going into the weekend the Shanghai Dragons lose out again, this time to the Paris Eternal in a 3 to 1 match. The Boston Uprising unsurprisingly drop their match against the Los Angeles Valiant in a 3 to 1 game as well. The Seoul Dynasty and the Philadelphia Fusion face off, both trying to improve their spots for the play-ins and it was Philly that did so with a 3 to 1 match win. Though the Houston Outlaws have no chance at the play-offs they were hoping to play spoiler to the Chengdu Hunters, a win for the Outlaws would’ve also benefited the Los Angeles Valiant, but as is par for the course the Outlaws lose 3 to 2 in a game five.
On Sunday, the London Spitfire and the Atlanta Reign took the stage and Atlanta continues their Stage 4 dominance with a full sweep on the 2018 Champs. The Paris Eternal and the Washington Justice duked it out with the Justice taking the win 3 to 1. The Florida Mayhem take another 4 and 0 win this week, this time over the Toronto Defiant. The final match of the week featured the Dallas Fuel and the Guangzhou Charge with the Charge delivering a full sweep to the fuel.
Next week is the Kit Kat Rivalry Weekend which will take place at the Novo by Microsoft and will be hosted by the Los Angeles Valiant. That will be the final week of the regular season as we move into the play-offs on the road to the grand finals in Philadelphia.
