As we inch nearer and nearer to the play-offs, teams continue to vie for the top spots while others fight just to make the play-ins and some teams wave goodbye to their already abysmal chances of making it.
Starting off week 3 of Stage 4 The Vancouver Titans took the stage against the London Spitfire and it was the Titans in a game 5 that ended up with the victory. Following that match the Paris Eternal faced off with the Philadelphia Fusion, the game went all the way to a 5th map and it was the Eternal who clinched the win. The Florida Mayhem and the Toronto Defiant, both teams with no play-off hopes, battled it out to a 3 – 1 victory in Florida’s favor. Ending day one the Guangzhou Charge and the Seoul Dynasty, both teams fighting for a play-off spot took their bout to game 5 but it was the Charge that would emerge victorious.
On day two the Washington Justice continue their undefeated stage with a 3 – 1 win over the struggling Boston Uprising. Despite their slow descent into mediocrity the Dallas Fuel did managed to take the Los Angeles Gladiators to a game 5, but the temporarily rebranded Los Angeles Big Geese pulled out the reverse sweep and secured the win. The San Francisco Shock got revenge on the Shanghai Dragons in a rematch of the Stage 3 Play-Offs with a 3 – 1 win. Finishing out day 2, the Hangzhou Spark managed to take the New York Excelsior to a game 5, but the New York crew still walked with the win.
Going into the weekend the Houston Outlaws and the London Spitfire met on the stage with the Spitfire running away with a 3 – 1 victory, sealing Houston’s non-play-off fate. The Seoul Dynasty and the Toronto Defiant had a close match ending in a 2 – 1 match in Seoul’s favor. The Los Angeles Valiant and the Florida Mayhem also had a close match ending in a 2 – 1 score as well. Wrapping up Saturdays matches the Chengdu Hunters played the Hangzhou Spark with the Spark taking the win 3 – 1.
On the final day the Vancouver Titans delivered a decisive 4 – 0 sweep to the Philadelphia Fusion. The so-far-undefeated Washington Justice nearly lost their first stage 4 match to the Houston Outlaws in a game 5, but the Justice keep their hopes of an undefeated stage alive. The San Francisco Shock swept the Dallas Fuel and the Guangzhou Charge also delivered a swift 4 – 0 sweep to the New York Excelsior.
