Steve Wiseman, Director of Marketing for FirstBlood, lets the Checkpoint crew what FirstBlood is and if every video game needs a background lore.
No, we’re not talking about the Rambo movie. FirstBlood is an esports tournament platform for PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds (PUBG) and DOTA2. There are tournaments held everyday online, and it gives you the chance to win points and even cash prizes.
FirstBlood can use real money. However, it also has their own currency with xPoints and xCredits. Steve explains the different currency are used to enter in more tournaments and redemption for prizes, such as gift cards, graphics cards, and cash. You do not have to use real money currency to enter into tournaments.
You can play for xPoints, which is free. We have daily missions. Get 5 headshots and win 10 xPoints. Then, we’ll have a tournament that is 10 xPoints to enter and if you win that tournament, you could win 20 xCredits. Then, you can use that to win cash. Our PUBG tournaments is called Dollar Royale, and it uses premium currency, which is the xCredits. You can go in play in a tournament and win cash. It’s not just a Pay-to-Win. You can actually grind it out and win cash.– Steve Wiseman, on FirstBlood currency: xPoints and xCredits
Steve also discussed with the Checkpoint crew if every video game needs a background lore. PUBG is a battle royale game, but would you play it if it had a Story Mode? There also seems to be a theory with Smash Bros that the creator, Masahiro Sakurai, is playing with Nintendo toys. Thus, the Boss Hands in the end of the game.
