Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Available on Switch
The highly praised Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic can now be played portably thanks to the Nintendo Switch.
This classic port from Xbox and PC is going for only $15 on the Switch’s storefront. That’s a pretty good deal for such a prominent piece of nostalgia. Unfortunately, single-player is the only mode available, but it’s rich story, characters and quests certainly make up for it.
KOTOR was developed by RPG giant Bioware and released back in 2003. Sitting at a Metacritic score of 93, KOTOR is regarded by the Star Wars community as a timeless classic. It’s graphics and gameplay still hold up pretty damn well today. Fans are hopeful with this latest port that intrigue could be sparked for a new Star Wars RPG to release in the future.
A New Hope for Star Wars’ Video Games
Earlier this year, Bioware’s parent company EA lost the exclusivity rights to the Star Wars brand. Now Lucasfilm is currently partnered with Ubisoft, who has announced that a new open-world Star Wars game is currently in development.
Hopefully Ubisoft’s next title can live up to the hype. After EA’s disappointing Battlefront releases, fans have been restless for a video game that meets their expectations. Ubisoft certainly has a challenge ahead of them and will need to deliver in order to please fans.
More exciting Star Wars releases are coming later this year, like the new Disney+ show The Book of Boba Fett, and a collaboration with battle royale titan Fortnite.
