Close Shave of the Week: Overwatch league, Dallas Fuel
Each week at CheckpointXP we bring you a moment in esports that’s too close for comfort. This week for CheckpointXP’s close shave we head to the Overwatch League where the Dallas Fuel secured their first win.
The Dallas Fuel went into last weekend with an 0-2 record. Their first match against the Los Angeles Gladiators put another loss in their column. Their match-up against the Los Angeles Valiant would not be easy. The Valiant had beat the former Champions the Shock the week before. The Fuel did manage to take one map off the Valiant but on Eichenwalde with a 2 -1 score, the Valiant were about to take home the win. As the Fuel approached point C with the payload after a team kill, Gamsu rushed forward on Reinhardt and dropped an Earthshatter directly into the spawn room of the LA Valiant. None of them where expecting it and pushed them all to the ground, stunned. It was just enough of a delay for his team to push the payload to map completion and force a game 5 where the Dallas Fuel secured victory. The Dallas Fuel end week 9 with a 1 and 3 record in the Overwatch League.
