Playstation Announces New Back Button Peripheral PS4 Controllers
Playstation revealed today a brand new peripheral today for PS4 controllers. The “Back Button Attachment” plugs into your controller’s headphone jack and gives you two extra switches on the underside of your gamepad.
According to the announcement video, all buttons on the PS4 controller can be mapped to the additional triggers. There is also a small screen on the attachment that will display which of the three button profiles is being used at the time. It clear that its being marketed with more competitive play in mind where the miliseconds between presses can mean victory or defeat. The new peripheral comes out in “late January” and retails for $29.99.
Norris’ Perplexed Opinion: Legit who asked for this? I know that companies like Scuf and others have put triggers on controllers before but even those I’ve never know the use case. Unless you can map double button presses to the triggers I’m not sure this really gives anyone an advantage. But I’m a lowly scrub.
