Half-Life: Alyx In Development

This week, we learned a new game in the Half-Life franchise is officially in the works. But no, it’s not Half-Life 3. Valve continues to demonstrate that they don’t know how to count to 3. Although, in fairness, this game is a prequel to the Half-Life games and wouldn’t actually make sense to be called Half-Life 3.
Half-Life: Alyx will put the player in the shoes of Alyx Vance, who was introduced in Half-Life 2. Perhaps most interesting is that the game is confirmed to be a full-length VR exclusive title. There’s still much to learn about the game, and we won’t have to wait long. Valve is scheduled to unveil more about the game at 1:00 PM eastern time tomorrow.
Our Thoughts: So I admittedly was not a huge fan of the half-life games when they first came out. As time has gone on, I’ve developed an appreciation for them and I’m really interested to see what they can do in VR. I’m frustrated at so many people reacting negatively to it being a VR title, because it seems to be the same people lambasting VR for not having any major exclusives. Well, here you go. The first true full-length Half-Life game in over a decade is a VR exclusive.
