A Fallout Speedrunner has been forced to change his name from ‘Tomatoanus’ in order to participate in Awesome Games Done Quick.

Actually, Tomatoanus has already participated in six AGDQ’s in the past, but many of his speedruns weren’t shown – probably because it’s an event raising money for kids with cancer.

So, in a show of compromise, “Tomatoanus’ will instead participate this year under the name ‘Tomatoangus’.

Tomatoangus released a statement which you can read in full here which essentially stated

TL;DR: GDQ can’t display the username ‘tomatoanus’ so I came up with ‘tomatoangus’ which they approved. My Twitch info will not be displayed on stream as I will continue to go by ‘tomatoanus’ on those sites, which is something I completely understand. GDQ was super transparent about the whole thing and communicated very clearly and quickly.

The name change is only for AGDQ – he’ll still be found under Tomatoanus on Twitch and YouTube.

And speaking of, check out some of Tomato’s great videos like his world record of beating Fallout 4 in under 40 minutes.
