CBS Orders Pilot For Esports Comedy

CBS is looking into the world of esports for new sources of entertainment. They’ve given out a put pilot order for a new comedy series centered around esports. The series is a single camera show following a retired basketball player who invests in an esports team as a way of reconnecting with his son.

The series is being produced in part by Rick Fox, who know doubt will resonate with that story. Fox himself is a former NBA basketball player who became the co-owner of the esports team Echo Fox. Given the current state of affairs at Echo Fox, it’ll be interesting to see how the character plays out on the show. The series is as of yet unnamed and we don’t know yet when it’ll premiere.
