2018 Overwatch League champion, London Spitfire announced in a tweet today they would be releasing Ji-kyeok “Birdring” Kim, Jongseok “NUS” Kim and Hee Dong “Guard” Lee.
Both Birdring and Nus were a part of the championship London team that made quick work of the Philly Fusion last season. In a separate tweet, Guard said that his contract was ended as of October 1. The Spitfire have also parted ways with coach Jeongmin “Jfeel” Kim.
With many of the inaugural season contracts ending this fall, it will be interesting to who ends up where. And with home/away coming in 2020 there may be some that won’t return to the league at all.
