Persia joined the FGC in 2009 from the first person shooter (FPS) scene. She won her first Halo 2 tournament back in 2004, where she was originally known as Super Sam. Now in the FGC, Persia was introduced, a name that was given to her by one of the FGC teams. Persia gives her take if there should be all women tournaments included in esports events. Persia says, “This year, we’ve been seeing girls take out some top players, and all of that comes with them being just like everybody else.” She also gives a shout out to Combo Queens and Smash Sisters. Persia gives her own sound and inspirational advice to our Not Your Player 2 listeners that almost made me cry!

I’ve been gaming all my life with my parents and my older brother. That’s where my competitive drive comes from, constantly trying to beat my older brother.

– Samantha “Persia” Hancock

Persia is also a commentator. For EVO 2019, she rocked the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Top 4 Stage with Ninjanam.
