Team Liquid Win Sixth Straight At IEM Chicago
Team Liquid continue to roll through the competition in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. They defeated ENCE Gaming in the finals of IEM Chicago over the weekend, winning their sixth consecutive major tournament. The win was convincing too with Liquid winning three straight rounds: 16-2, 16-3, and 16-14. For the win, they’ll take home 125,000 dollars.
Over the last year, we saw Astralis put forth one of the most dominant runs in the history of Counter-Strike. Most people thought it would be a level of dominance and mastery that would never be replicated in CS:GO, perhaps even esports. However, Team Liquid are certainly challenging that notion. Since May, they’ve torn through just about any competitor who has stood in their way.
They’ll now turn their attention towards the StarLadder Berlin Major which will be running from August 23rd through September 8th.
