Each week we bring you two moments, one of epic success, someone who absolutely nailed it! And another of an epic failure, someone who totally failed it. This week for the Nailed It we salute World of Warcraft Developers from Blizzard as they added a new NPC to the game to honor the late Byron “Reckful” Bernstein.

Never Forgotten

Byron ‘Reckful’ Bernstein was a popular Twitch streamer and former esports professional. Late last June Byron took his own life after struggles with depression. He was most popular due to his streaming and involvement in the World of Warcraft and Asheron’s Call MMOs. Blizzard and World of Warcraft are known for memorializing important figures from both pop culture and their own community in the game. When Robin Williams passed, he was also given a special NPC in the game.

This past week an update to the Shadowland’s BETA added a new Rogue Trainer to the city of Stormwind by the name of Reckful. She event comes with an interesting bit of lore behind her. While most trainers in World of Warcraft will train all three specializations of their specific class, Reckful refuses to train Assassination Rogues. This is an easter egg that points to one of Reckful’s most famous accomplishments. He rose to the tops of a PVP Ladder as a rogue without using the Assassination specialization, which most people said could not be done. But Reckful defied all expectations. Below is a video of streamer Asmongold discovering Reckful’s NPC in the Shadowland’s expansion BETA.

Check out this week’s Failed It, featuring a group of Call of Duty players attempting to blockade the new Loot Train.
