LOS ANGELES, CA – JUNE 10: Updates to ‘Player Unknown’s Battle Ground’ by PUBG Corporation are announced during the Microsoft xBox E3 briefing at the Microsoft Theater on June 10, 2018 in Los Angeles, California. The next PUBG Game is officially in development. The title is currently unnamed, and is being developed by Striking Distance, which has appointed ex-Call of Duty and Dead Space developer Glen Schofield as CEO. While still very early on in development, the title is billed as being “an original narrative experience within the PUBG universe.”

This could mean we're in for a single player experience, or at the very least that this title could be moving away from the battle royale genre. It would make sense, given the ongoing success of PUBG, that PUBG Corp wouldn't want to divide the fanbase with a second multiplayer game.
