New year, new games. Let’s check out the best games coming in January 2022! From PC ports to brand new titles, this month in gaming seems like the perfect time to spend some extra Christmas cash.
Demon Gaze Extra – Jan 6
Demon Gaze Extra is a JRPG dungeon crawler, designed by the incredible talent at Experience Inc. Originally published on the Vita back in 2013, this newly enhanced port features updated graphics, gameplay and mechanics. If turned-based, anime dungeoneering is your cup of tea, then definitely check out Demon Gaze Extra.
God of War (PC) – Jan 14
Kratos makes his PC debut in this new port of God of War. Hopefully you’re ready to overclock your PC once you get your hands on this new release. God of War will support a number of significant graphical upgrades. True 4k resolution, unlocked framerates, high resolution shadows, and ultra wide monitor support are just a few goodies that make an already gorgeous game that much more beautiful. With God of War: Ragnarok releasing in a few months, there’s never been a better time to replay a modern masterpiece.
Rainbow 6: Extraction – Jan 20
Rainbow 6: Extraction seeks to take the strategy-focused, team-based gameplay of Siege and infest it with hordes of alien creatures. Players will need to work together and utilize a wide variety of abilities, gadgets and weapons if they want to survive.
Reactions to Extraction’s announcement has been mixed for the Siege community. Some are very excited for this twist to the R6 formula, while others want Ubisoft to focus on improving Siege and keeping the game alive. We’ll just have to wait and see how the community reacts when it launches later this month.
Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves – Jan 28
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: Lost Legacy are both getting a face-lift with this PS5 remaster. If you haven’t had the chance to complete Nathan Drake’s story, this is a pretty great deal. Uncharted 4 already looks incredible on the PS4, but with the PS5 remaster, players will be able to experience the game in 4k. It also features a performance mode that targets 60 fps, and a performance+ mode that targets 120 fps.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus – Jan 28
Arceus has taken the Pokemon world by storm. New ambitious gameplay mechanics, Pokemon battles and a beautiful art style are leading up to Arceus becoming one of the series biggest releases ever. So far, Gamefreak has been pretty tight-lipped when it comes to revealing information about the new game. But with the release date later this month, fans won’t have to wait much longer before they can start exploring the region of Hisui.
