Henry Cavill, the actor behind Geralt in Netflix’s The Witcher, could’ve seen his action career go down the drain due to an injury he suffered on set.
“The End of My Action Career”
In an interview with IGN, Cavill reveals that he tore his hamstring one day during the filming of The Witcher.
Cavill is known for doing his own stunts. And an injury like this could’ve had a lasting impact for his career in action movies.
“It was a very, very bad tear,” said the superman star. “And I was very lucky that it wasn’t a complete detachment of the hamstring.”
Cavill details the need to balance the show’s production with the physical limitations of his body.
“So it was having to find that balance between, ‘Yes, let’s push, push, push,’ and, ‘Whoa, hold on, if I tear this further, it’s the end of my action career.’
Luckily, he was able to recover thanks to the help of his physiotherapist, Freddie Murray. We just hope these action stunts turn out to be Cavil’s kryptonite.
The Witcher Season Two Scores High
The second season of The Witcher premiered on Netflix over the weekend. The vast majority of critics and audiences have been enjoying the series so far. Currently, The Witcher season two is certified fresh with a critic rating of 96% and an audience score of 73%.
Between The Witcher and Arcane: League of Legends, Netflix is turning out to be the top contender for highly rated video game adaptations. Their strength so far has been in the studio’s ability to stay truthful to the game’s themselves, while creating new captivating storylines and twists.
The Witcher is already slated to release a third season. At the time, there’s no official release window yet, but it’s only a matter of time until we see Cavill return as Geralt for more monster-slaying madness. In the meantime, we may see him take a role in Amazon’s Mass Effect tv show. Hopefully this exciting news pans out.
