There Can Be Only One
The 2020 season has been a long, hard road for everyone in the league. Two teams from each side of the world have climbed to the top. Now they’ll battle it out to be crowned the Grand Champions of 2020. Will the San Francisco Shock cement their legacy as back to back champions? Can the Seoul Dynasty put a glorious endcap on a shaky season? Does the Philadelphia Fusion have what it takes to reclaim glory? Or will the Shanghai Dragons finish their epic anime arc and stand on top of the world? Who will be the team to take it all at the Overwatch League 2020 Grand Finals?

The San Francisco Shock is the number one team to beat and since 2019 they have been nigh unstoppable. In the few instances, they suffered the bitter taste of defeat? It unlocked a primal need to devastate every new opponent in their past. With the Grand Finals featuring a double elimination set-up, sending the Shock to the losers bracket might be worse than facing them as winners in the finals.
The Philadelphia Fusion were runner-ups in the inaugural season 2018 season. They have star power littered all throughout their ranks and are led by one of the most versatile players in the game, Jaehyeok “Carpe” Lee. The Fusion was number one seed in the regular season for North America, barely outranking the Shock. They also have the 2020 Rookie of the Year in Alarm. His Ana can turn any DPS willing to target him, into a napping body ready for destruction.

The Seoul Dynasty has always been a team that on paper, was destined for greatness. It’s always been just out of their reach though. They struggled to really find footing this year in the regular season but managed to step up in the late game and find their way to the Grand Finals. Despite having a worse record than the other three teams, the Dynasty has what it takes to win any given payload. They may not be everyone’s first choice for who is going to win it all, but you’d be a fool to completely count them out.
The Shanghai Dragons are on the verge of completing their anime arc. After going 0 – 40 in the inaugural season, falling somewhere in the middle in 2019, they’re one of the best in the 2020 league. They have the 2020 MVP on their line-up in Byungsun “Fleta” Kim, who is deadly on nearly any hero he picks up, the reason they say “Fleta is Meta”. They also have one of the deepest DPS rosters in the entire league. Since the Dragons managed to #Breakthrough there has been very little to stop them from reaching the top.
