SpongeBob Squarepants debuted on television in 1999, has become one of the most iconic cartoon series on Nickelodeon. With over 260 episodes and still running, Krusty Krab fry cook will do just about anything in order to maintain his job, protect the secret Krabby patty formula, and cherish his friendships. YouTuber and fan-anime creator has taken the show to a whole new level, creating his very own SpongeBob Squarepants Anime.

So far, there has only been one 14 minute episode released, where SpongeBob takes on arch-nemesis Bubble Bass, who was seen claiming SpongeBob made his burger wrong in the original series. All of SpongeBob’s enemies can be seen in the opening theme, as with any anime series, it details what lies ahead in the show.

The YouTube channel Narmak spent six months mastering the animations.

The characters are imagined in a new sense, Squidward being even more self-loathing than his original character, and Patrick being a mindful guru full of wisdom.

After being on Nickelodeon for over two years, it could be time for SpongeBob to revamp and enter the Japanese world of true anime. Episode 2 is not confirmed, but many remain hopeful.
