Each week at CheckpointXP we bring you a moment in esports that’s too close for comfort. This week for CheckpointXP’s close shave we visit the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scene where G2 and FaZe Clan faced off. FaZe Clan demonstrated why they’re one of the best in CS:GO.

Last weekend G2 and FaZe Clan went head to head in ESL’s Counter Strike: Global Offensive play-in stages. The play-in stages were part of group qualifiers for the Road to Rio. After FaZe Clan took a dominant 14 to 5 lead, no thought that G2 would make the comeback they did. G2 came knocking at FaZe Clan’s door with only a single round left, G2 would send the match into over time. FaZe Clan blew a massive lead in the match but ultimately, would end up winning and defeat G2 in two back to back maps for the series win. Proving why FaZe Clan is one of the CS:GO greats. Watch as G2 makes the comeback and pushes FaZe to over time.
