Riot is officially taking over the responsibility of selling the tenth franchise slot in the North American League of Legends Championship Series. Over the past few months Echo Fox has been embroiled in controversy following comments made by a member of the organization, Amit Raizada. Following these comments coming to light Riot gave the Echo Fox organization 60 days to remove Raizada or face the consequences.
Echo Fox was set to sell their spot to Kroenke Sports and Entertainment, but that deal fell through. Riot will now handle the entire process with the sale going to Echo Fox. Riot has opened up a 30-day application process in order to fill tenth slot for the 2020 season of the NA LCS.
