Twitch launches subscribers only stream beta for affiliates and partners. The Subscriber Streams are rewards for Twitch subscribers, granting them exclusive access and behind the scenes for content creators. However, this has been met with mixed responses as it is seen as money grabby.
Hungrybox, professional Smash Bros Melee player, suggested that possibly the subscription money can go towards Pay-Per-View esports tournament streams.
However, in the fighting game community, it may not work for Smash tournaments as Hungrybox pointed out that Smash has always been free-to-watch.
