A 25-year old man in Japan was arrested after sending death threats to Square Enix after spending over 200k in yen in gacha games, which is roughly about $1,800. The unidentified man said he did not get the character he wanted after spending the exuberant amount and sent the email as revenge. He was arrested in late March and has confessed to the threats.
