China has once again stopped approving games seeking permission to release in the country. Industry experts had hoped the worst was behind us when China re-opened submissions earlier this year, but as the country struggles to work through a backlog of games that is estimated at 7,000 titles, they have once again shut down. Worse still, the Chinese government has said they expect to only approve about 3,000 titles this year, compared to 8,000 – 9,000 in past years.
